Karen’s Bucket List
Don: Did you watch the movie Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman? Karen and I are starting our own list and want to encourage all of our friends and family to do the same. We would love to see some of the things that you have on your own list. There are a few things that we already know but we are going to try and build a list of the top ten. She is sleeping now but let me tell you some of the things I already know are on her list.
- Live on our horse property. We had just gotten proposal’s from several builders to build the home of Karen’s dream on the Hwy 388 property when we found out that she had leukemia. At least we didn’t have a foundation poured and then find out! Now we would settle for a camper! (Well, I would anyway.)
- Go on a cruise with family and friends. Doesn’t have to be a long one or even go to distant lands. The family and friends part is a must!
- Go for a trail ride at Pine Ridge. Family and friends required!
- Shipwreck Island in the summer of 2011. It is a Brunty family reunion week tradition when her one sister that lives out of town comes down with her family. That puts 17 of us just having a great day together.
- Continue to build our relationship with God. (This should be on everyone’s list.)
I know there are other things that are special to Karen that will make this list when she gets up and we put together the official list. I really do expect you guys to comment with one or two special things from your own list. So get going!
Set some time aside to create your bucket list and stop putting off your dreams for “someday”. The best way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as a magnificent adventure.
Imagine being able to say at the end of your life’s journey: “Wow, what a ride!”
I’d love to go to a working cattle ranch and participate in a cattle drive. John and I would love to take the boys on a long vacation to see the Grand Canyon, Mt Rushmore, and Yellowstone and then drive up to Banff. Of course, we’d need an RV (and a lot of gas money!) for this vacation but it would be awesome. Oh, and I’d like to take the boys to Universal Studios & Disney; can you believe they’ve never been?
A BUCKET LIST…THAT IS GREAT IDEA! DREAMS AND GOALS ARE GOOD THINGS. WHEN YOU ARE ABLE YOU SHOULD TRY TO PLAN A TRIP TO SEE THE REDWOOD TREES! SOMETHING THAT IS UNBELIVEABLE… A MUST IN ONES LIFE. ON THE WAY TRY TO SEE EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. A TRIP OUT WEST IS A LIFETIME DREAM FOR US. I HAVE SEEN SOME OF IT BUT WANT TO GO SEE EVERY BIT THAT I CAN. DON’T MISS THE GRAND CANYON…IT WILL LEAVE DIZZY AND SPEECHLESS, YELLOWSTONE, GLACIER, YOSIMITE. COLORADO IS ONE PLACE YOU NEED TO EXPERIENCE…GOD MOST DEFINITLY SPENT A LITTLE EXTRA TIME THERE WHEN HE WAS CREATING. IT IS OH SO BEAUTIFULL. BUT THERE IS PLENTY HERE ALSO. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN UP THE CREEK IN VERNON TO THE SPRINGS? THE ITCHATUCKNEE RIVER …WEST OF HERE A GOOD DAY TUBING, SWIMMING WITH THE MANATEES, THE DOLPHINS, ST.AUGSTINE IS A GOOD AFTERNOON AT THE FORT, SNORKLE AT THE JETTIES , I WAS SURPRIZED AT HOW MANY TROPICAL LOOKING FISH WERE THERE. LANMARK PARK IN DOTHAN IS A VERY NICE VISIT, THE PIONEER SETTLEMENT IN BLOUNTSTOWN. AND YOU HAVE A GREAT IDEA ALREADY THAT RIDE AT PINERIDGE IS AWESOME IF YOU CAN MAKE TO THE DEADENINGS. HARDWOODS AND SWAMP . WE ARE BLESSED. PUT RODEO RIDE ON YOUR LIST TOO, I WILL BE LOOKING FOR YOU NEXT YEAR!!!! YOU HAVE TO GET STRONGER STARTING RIGHT NOW COWGIRL.
Don, please get my cell number from Karen and give me a call, or have Karen give me a call if she feels up to it.

Take a trip to Ireland. I’ve heard the landscaping takes your breath away and I want to experience that. My mom always wanted to go (her family is from Ireland) but never made it so I promised her I would do that. Now, will I kiss the Blarney Stone?….maybe.
WOW! There are so many things that I would like to put on my bucket list and really don’t know where to begin:
1.) I would really love to take a cruise to Alaska… that’s probably the number one on my list. Do I think it will happen? It is possible, maybe when Steve & I retire and start saving now. LOL
2.) Take a train ride to the west and go to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and a few other national parks!
3.) Become a millionaire so I can afford to do all the things on my bucket list! LOL
