Karen's Day at Shands

Karen wanted a place for family and friends to be able to see how she is doing each day at Shands. This is how she is making that happen.

Beautiful sunrise on a Sunday morning

December20

Don: It has been cloudy and gray with a little rain since we got here on Tuesday. Today we had only a little bit of clouds way off on the horizon that helped the sun throw off some pretty colors at sunrise. We are on the eighth floor and get to watch the sun come up over Payne’s Prairie. Very pretty. Of course now the sun is going to shine into the room most of the day. It is a little inconvient. I really had been enjoying the weather as it was. Especially when we stayed the first two days in the camper and you could hear the rain. Though the rain on the window the other day of our 8th floor room was cool too!

Karen is on bag 4 out of 6 in this round of treatment. We went running around a little bit yesterday afternoon. We don’t get to go to church this morning but will get to see our friends there next week and the week after. No chemo tonight or Monday morning. Last two bags are Monday night and Tuesday morning. Check out around noon. I have to be back at work on Monday. Thats all the news of now…

Thank you all for coming by.

It was a beautiful day today got to spend some time with family trying to finish decorating my tree. Little late this year but that is ok to . With school and work it gets kinda hard to keep up sometimes. Glad to hear you have some potential bone marrow donors and that you are in remission that is wonderful. I finally got your facebook page through Lisa O I could never find it for some reason. You look great glad you had a good christmas with your family. Take care and will chat soon! As always you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers

Hi Karen,Don,Muff and Ken, I hope your are feeling better today Karen, and it is a beautiful day. The sun is bright and shinnning and it is COLD here, which it hardly ever gets. I turned our heater up to get a shower and just about froze anyway, but at least I am clean.
I went to church and sunday school yesterday and I know the church is still holding you prayfully in their arms. Muff /Ken give me directions to the campground and your camper. I AM GOING to try to see you all after Christmas. Maybe Steve can come with me.Ocala is not far and you are not much father than that.
Karen, you are so much stronger than you thought,it’s wonderful what God is doing in you for HIS Glory.I know you have many gifts that the Lord intends for you to share. Rember the saying, if God brings you to it,He will bring you through it.I truely believe it and I know you are truly blessed. Well, all for now.Hugs and Kisses, Auntie M
