Karen's Day at Shands

Karen wanted a place for family and friends to be able to see how she is doing each day at Shands. This is how she is making that happen.

friday at the camper

January29

brownies are baked and waiting on Don and the kids to get here.  This weekend will be great.  Got my platelets today so I’ll have the weekend off-no clinic.  yeah!

Good news!  Renee is still in remission.  She’s had all the tests here at Shands, and she is still doing great!  I guess it was a false alarm with the bloodwork from her clinic at home.  (she lives in pensacola).  Anyway,  She is still in remission and trucking along just like me.  I am so happy!  I was so worried she would have to start over with the chemo.  We have been through enough…

all is well,  God loves us, and wants us to be happy through him,

love  karen

Karen, it pains me to see such an incredible woman have to go through such suffering. You are a true inspiration to me! I remember seeing you after your initial surgery at Bay. I read through your entire blog today and I am simply floored! You have amazing strength and faith, and I will definitely keep you in my prayers! I am very thankful to have read that you are in remission and awaiting a transplant! You are one of the sweetest people I have ever met and I wish nothing but a long and happy life for you and your family when all of this is over! Keep your head up, and ALWAYS remember how beautiful you are inside and out! It sounds like your family has been absolutely amazing to you through this entire ordeal. Don sounds amazing, and I am glad that you have someone like him to help take care of you and give you strength!

    Love,
    Leah

Hail hail the gangs all here. We live in a very quiet little park with quaint roads to ride bike on. They are outside now riding their bilkes. Ancient spanish moss oaks. some as big around as a car. Old victorian style homes. McIntosh is a great place.

Hi Karen! Glad to her your good news. Hope you had (are having) a great time with the family. Brownies sound so yummy right about now. I have been looking up recipes for something fun to make for Valentines day. I settled on dipping strawberries and pretzel rods into chocolate. The rods are Eds favorite. I bought him some for Christmas, this time I’ll make them with love. Choke-i am NOT a baker. So maybe i will burn them with love. LOL Love ya girl!
