Karen's Day at Shands

Karen wanted a place for family and friends to be able to see how she is doing each day at Shands. This is how she is making that happen.

Prayer requests

October26

Don: This site is primarily for letting all of you know how Karen is doing but it seems to be taking on a little bit of a personality of it’s own beyond just an information distribution site about Karen’s Day. There are so many people who let us know that they are praying for Karen. It is very uplifting.

We both want to thank all of our friends, family and all other who are praying for her to have strength and to come through this frightening event in her life. We ask that everyone continue to keep her in their prayers and not to forget any others that might need praying for either.

If you do have someone that you wish to raise up in prayer, please include that in your comments on this site. We know that we are not the only ones with a need for prayer at this time. We would love to help others the same way that they are helping us, by prayer. God bless us all.

“Prayer requests”

We are continuing in prayer for all of you! Karen, I’m working on a nice, long newsy letter that I hope to get mailed this week. I’m lousy at writing them long-hand so hopefully you won’t mind if it’s typed. I’d love to come see you some time but will play it by ear for now. None of us are ill but I hate to make plans and get all geared up only to have to back out at the last minute. I’d definitely plan on calling at least the night before to make sure you’re up for a visit. I was thinking of bringing you a treat but I guess, after reading one of Don’s earlier posts, it probably would not be a good idea after all. Let me know if there’s anything you need that I can send. I love you, girl, and I’m praying for you. Remember, nothing is impossible with God!

Hi Tina, I love you too. Feel free to come visit anytime. Most folks just mask up if they are unsure of their health status. My poor boys had to wear masks the whole weekend. Once my blood counts start coming back up and getting closer to normal it wont be a big deal, but for now…ughhh. I miss everyone, and I want to come home. This is going to be a pretty long haul. I’ve started quilting again, and doing some paint by number…horses of course..you doing any quilting?
    take care girl
    love karen
remember to praise God in all things

I started quilting once but never got even close to making a quilt! LOL! I just didn’t have the time to devote to it. Every time that Josh brings an artwork order home from school, though, I order a quilt block because some day I want to build a quilt for him around those quilt blocks. I’ve thought lately I’d like to learn to knit but don’t have time for that either. *sigh* Did you get my e-mail? I sent it yesterday. It was pretty long so reading it probably would wear you out! ;-D If want to send you a package I send it to you c/o the hospital, right?

I think I might try to plan for a November 14 visit. I wish I could come this weekend but Josh has been waiting for this show quite anxiously. The following weekend I’m on worship team again (new rotation; I’m on Team 2 this time — was on Team 6 last time) plus I’ve promised to help Joshua’s teacher at his class booth on Saturday, Nov 7 (Fall Festival).

I’m praying for you most earnestly, Karen, and I have many of my friends praying for you, too. Keep God as your strength, don’t rely solely on your own! From reading your blog, it is evident that you know that already and you draw upon His strength regularly.

You are my sister and my friend and I love you dearly.

    Tina

P.S. Do you have a CD player in your room?
