Karen's Day at Shands

Karen wanted a place for family and friends to be able to see how she is doing each day at Shands. This is how she is making that happen.

Sunday morning

January24

Hi everyone.  I’m getting my last bit of chemo and then discharged by noon or so.  Then its off the the camper.  Don will leave tonight or early in the am to start his next work week, and Mom and Dad will be stuck trucking me back and forth to clinic.   Hopefully we will get through this go without any complications.  I can tell they are getting tired.  Don is trying to save his vacation/sick leave for when I get my transplant.  He is coming down on weekends.  🙁

Hope to see Jake and Dylan this weekend!!!  Dylan has a Championship basketball game this week, and Jacob started track last week.  I got very lucky and was able to see a couple of Dylan’s games.  It was so much fun.  I love watching the kids compete.  I hope to be home for some of Jakes track meets.  I have been blessed…Praise God for remission and second chances.  I can’t wait to come home and be a mom again.  “Susie homemaker” sounds like the best title ever!  Anyone care for some brownies…?

love karen

I’ll take you up on some brownies but can you leave the calories out? LOL! By the way, I heard from Rosalie and she has a couple more hats that she made for you – either to keep or to pass on if you like. Where shall I have her send them? You can e-mail me with the address, if you like, or just let me know if she should just send them to your house. If she sends them to your house, Don can bring them to you over a weekend so let me know! Love you, girlfriend, and we are all still praying for you!

We do thank the good Lord for remission. And, we thank the good Lord for you and your wonderfully positive attitude. Wow! I continue to be impressed. Glad you are out of hospital. But, I bet all those people miss the ray of sunshine that left when you left. Everybody loves you.
Your are always in my heart and prayers.
    Love you lots!!!
